Executive summary 1.1 Game Concept Get stuffed is a horror based first person co-op thriller where you must survive and progress through the level without being captured by any of the teddy bears that make up the fighting force of the enemy. The game takes place at an amusement park with a variety of different sections to give the player the variety of many different environments. The game demo takes place in the entry way section of the theme par. The game focusses on the co-operative game play elements of multiplayer games. Through the gameplay and the complexity of what happens the players will be forced to help each other rather than fighting individually and going off alone endangering the rest of the team. The atmosphere, setting and narrative will make players want to progress through the game to the end with their team. 1.2 Key Selling points • Action based, first person gameplay with a focus on teamwork and co-operation. • Interesting weapons that are not usually found in a First Person game. • Mixes childish setting with dark and gritty scenario for an experience that promises to entertain and frighten you. • Upgradeable weapons for easier butchering of ʻhelplessʼ Fingles. • Player driven plot that will amuse, bemuse and enthuse the player. • The Gameplay successfully implements player co-operation as well as frightening solitude when the player loses the group. 1.3 Technical Summary Get Stuffed is a first person perspective 3D shooter, featuring ranged and melee weapons, a dynamic story-line and many different types of environments. The game will be developed for both PC and Playstation 3, using the Unreal 3 Engine. The game is primarily multiplayer, however it will be possible to play single player, though it will be more of a challenge. The multiplayer will be co-operative and will run though networking on the PC and both network and two player split-screen on the PS3. 6/24
Breakdown Of Features 2.1 Plot Summary Demo: The Demo is an edited version of the introduction level for mike. The level stars Mike in the entry way. The character makes his way around the fair ground, defeating bears until they reach the circus tent in which he defeats a large bear. Full Game: The characters families have vanished. The last time they were seen they had gone on ahead to the amusement park that according to many recent surveys nine out of ten people want to go to. When the characters arrive the park is completely empty. It quickly becomes clear that the parks newest attraction, ʻthe Finglesʼ, have turned on the establishment and taken over the park. The characters must fight their way through the amusement park, working their way around the park, freeing the people that have been taken from their respective prisons. As it turns out the bears programming makes it so that they need to play with people and the easiest way for them to do this is to round them all up and put them in groups. Sadly there are too many Bears playing with each person and, occasionally, killing them. Full details in accompanying Narrative document. Test-Co Test-Co is a large, multi-billion dollar conglomerate of extremely wealthy businesses. Primarily they run media related businesses, film studios, news paper companies, TV studios, a few amusement parks to promote themselves and, for some reason, super markets. However they also have less reputable sources of income, such as weapons manufacturing, biological testing, one of the smaller private military companies and... most disturbing of all... toy factories. The Fingles The Fingles are animatronic teddy bears built by Test-Co industries in an attempt to seem more friendly. Their programming dictates that above all else they must entertain people by any means possible. The bears, on their opening in Dream Valley amusement park calculate that the easiest way to entertain all of the people in the immediate vicinity is to work together, bring all of the people to one place and do whatever it takes. 7/24
