Welcome to Applefest ’12
Applefest began in 1989 as a simple harvest celebration
to support the Warwick Valley Community Center held in
the village streets and parks of Warwick, located in the Hudson
Valley of New York. The event is now co-produced by the Warwick
Valley Chamber of Commerce, and has grown to become a major
event in the mid-Hudson region. Festival proceeds benefit these
and other local non-profit organizations.
This family festival has become an event that many
look forward to for the entire year. Applefest is the proud winner of
the Times Herald-Record newspaper’s "Best of 2010 and 2011 -
Family Event of the Year" category, determined by reader votes.
The event was also chosen as one of the top ten festivals in the
"Top 100 Events in North America" by the American Bus
Association.
Over 30,000 visitors attend the one-day event, traveling
from neighboring states to experience the extraordinary variety of
Warwick's apples, culture, and entertainment. Former New York
Governor George Pataki named Warwick a "Quality Community,"
and the Village of Warwick was a proud winner in the recent
national and international "America in Bloom" competitions.
Applefest features over 200 juried crafters and dozens
of vendors offering a wonderful variety of food. In addition, free
musical entertainment on several stages, a carnival for the children,
Farmers' Market, and fifty local non-profit exhibitors all make
for a great day in the country, in a town renowned for its Victorian
charm and agricultural bounty.
Who produces Applefest? The festival is co-produced
by the Warwick Valley Community Center and the Warwick Valley
Chamber of Commerce.
