• The jump-wise spray cone angle (till 130 0 ) occurs at low liquid pressure<br />
drop (“onion” stage) while <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g air pressure drop.<br />
• Reason: sub-ambient air pressure with<strong>in</strong> <strong>jet</strong> that helps to overcome the<br />
liquid bubble surface tension.<br />
•The large spray angle make it useful for <strong>small</strong> <strong>jet</strong> eng<strong>in</strong>es due to short<br />
residence time of droplets.<br />
