company developed within a few years into the number 1 for pet food and care.
Fressnapf sees itself as a discounter with pioneering business idea: large-scale
stores for pet food and care, huge product assortment, low priced discount prices
and competent consulting with allquestions about pets. The portfolio includes
Private Label such as more4cats and more4dogs, real nature, MultiFit, fit+fun or
Bioplan. Fressnapf offers his customers a substantial amount of services such as
dog hairdressers, vets, pet insurances or travels with pets. As a franchise company
Fressnapf works together with around 270 franchise partners, which get supported
from the headquarters in Krefeld with regards to Marketing, Purchasing, Sales and
IT. 2009 Fressnapf opened store number 1,000 in Europe. Next to the classic Fressnapf
stores, which are concentrated on pet food and care, there are also sales
concepts like large-scale XXL stores, where you can find species like birds, rodents
and reptiles and ornamental fish in the assortment. Outside of Germany Fressnapf
is represented in further 11 European countries, in the non-German speaking countries
the trade group is called Maxi Zoo. Around 30% of the turnover is generated
abroad.For the future the company has planned the expansion of his pole position
as a multichannel-retailer with the 3 sales channels stationary trade, catalogue
and online shop. Since many years the company supports the Deutsche Tierschutzbund
e.V. with donations in money and kind. Furthermore Fressnapf is involved in
the WSPA Welttierschutzgesellschaft and the Tiertafel Deutschland e.V.
