CIVIL WAR PATRIOTICS & THE BEVERLY, NJ HOSPITAL ~ Hughes, Walton, & Micchelli
Illustrations courtesy William E. Hughes
Fig. 13: Two more letters from Henay to his wife, written during his stay at the Beverly General Hospital. One is
dated September 3, and the other September 13, 1864. Henay was mustered out in late June 1865 in
Philadelphia, and as his first letter here is written in August of 1864, he must have been in the Beverly Hospital
for almost its entire existence.
