3.2 Catalogs<br />

– GTAR - UNIX gtar <strong>for</strong>mat<br />

– NT_GTAR - Windows gtar <strong>for</strong>mat<br />

– RMU_BACKUP - Oracle Rdb/RMU saveset <strong>for</strong>mat<br />

– VMS_BACKUP - <strong>OpenVMS</strong> BACKUP saveset <strong>for</strong>mat<br />

• <strong>Archive</strong> Type- DISK or TAPE<br />

• Saveset Location -<br />

3.2.7 Catalog File Entries<br />

– For archive type TAPE the list of volume IDs containing the saveset<br />

– For archive type DISK the on-disk location of the saveset<br />

• Saveset Name - The filename of the saveset<br />

• Saveset Position - The tape mark offset of the beginning of the saveset on tape<br />

• Status - The ABS status <strong>for</strong> the save operation<br />

• Severity - The ABS severity level <strong>for</strong> the save operation<br />

File entries contain in<strong>for</strong>mation about files which have been saved.<br />

• Catalog Name - The name of the catalog<br />

• Catalog Node - The name of the MDMS node where the catalog resides<br />

• Data Select Type - The <strong>for</strong>mat of the entry name<br />

– RDB_[Vnm_]_DATABASE - An Oracle Rdb database file<br />

– RDB_[Vnm_]_STORAGE_AREA - An Oracle Rdb s<strong>to</strong>rage area<br />

– UNIX_FILES - UNIX file specification<br />

– VMS_FILES - <strong>OpenVMS</strong> file specification<br />

– VMS_SAVESET - volumeID:saveset specification<br />

– WINDOWS_FILES - Windows files specification<br />

• Filename - The name of the entry<br />

• Source Node - The network nodename where the entry was located<br />

• Date <strong>Archive</strong>d - The date the entry was saved<br />

• Expiration Date - The original date the entry expires in the catalog (used only <strong>for</strong> archive<br />

type of DISK)<br />

• Creation Date - The date the entry was created on the source node<br />

• Revision Date - The date the entry was last modified on the source node be<strong>for</strong>e being saved<br />

• Owner - Owner in<strong>for</strong>mation of the entry used on the source node<br />

• Saveset Name - Copied from related save entry<br />

• Saveset Location - Copied from related save entry<br />

• Saveset Section -<br />

– For archive type of TAPE the index in<strong>to</strong> the list of volume IDs indicating the volume<br />

which contains the start of the saved entry<br />

– For archive type of DISK it is always 1<br />
