open their headquarters and
put on an exciting display of
military history including
vehicles and equipment,
paintings, photographs, documents,
uniforms and artifacts
tracing the lineage of
the current regiment which
dates back to at least 1837.
Cambridge’s unique organization,
“rare”, protector of
natural sites and promoter of
all things organic, offers a
number of special events
through the fall and winter (a
modest admission fee
applies) including the rare
organics Poetry Night, Oct.
11, “Great Grand River
Views”, a walk on the rare
property, Oct. 13, “Rock as
Refuge,” Nov. 22; and
“When Autumn Gives Way
to Winter,” Dec. 1.
Special Christmas-time
events include the
Cambridge Santa Claus
Parade, Sat., Nov. 17, 6
p.m., on Hespeler Road;
and the Hespeler Santa
Claus Parade, Saturday,
December 1, at noon, followed
by live entertainment
and a festive Christkindl
Market.
