The Computer Properties dialog, accessed by simply right-clicking on Computer, and<br />

selecting Properties, reveals the Windows Version and Edition, the type and number of<br />

physical processors, the amount of installed memory, and whether the operating system<br />

is 32-bit or 64-bit.<br />

Different versions and editions of Windows have different limits for the amount of RAM<br />

and number of processors (both physical and logical) that they support, so it is very<br />

important to know the exact version and edition of Windows that you have installed,<br />

along with whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit. For example, the x86 version of Windows <strong>Server</strong><br />

2003 R2 Standard Edition has a limit of 4 GB for physical memory, so even if you install
