Our intention is to publish 6 editions a year ranging in topics and content with the purpose of providing members ideas and constructive advice that may help them in the management of their club. This edition we hear from the newly appointed Minister O’Brien who outlines his plans for the sector. This article compliments his address to members at the first Member Connect for the year. We also learn from Steven Bowman about the fine line of difference between management of the club and the role Board members should take in their duties; we learn from David Elia the CEO of Hostplus in their first leadership series about brand management and how clubs should embrace reputation at all levels of service; we also hear about Blogs and their importance to the marketing structure of clubs; and we are also challenged to think about education alternatives, tax and managing our licenses. The Member Connect is reviewed as is the industry awards and we get a look at the RACV Healesville Club which sets new standards. Clubs Victoria is restructuring with a focus on new services and increased delivery and we introduce the new team in IR, events and recruitment who are all keen to provide you a reliable service you can trust. We are keen to provide readers and members increased opportunities and we seek feedback and the submission of editorial that will promote best practice. Our next edition is planned for June/July and if you would like to submit editorial for consideration then please do so as the magazine is ultimately yours.
