Interchangeable heating blocks<br />

Arktik thermal cyclers offer three different<br />

interchangeable heating blocks: 96 well,<br />

384 well and dual blocks with two 48 well<br />

units. The blocks can be changed in seconds<br />

without any additional tools. Dual 48 well<br />

blocks allow two users to run two independent<br />

protocols at the same time or create a new<br />

protocol while running the other. The blocks<br />

allow use of virtually all standard PCR plastics.<br />

High performance<br />

A broad range, up to 30 ºC, and accurate<br />

temperature gradient* is available for protocol<br />

optimisation and simplifies the user operation.<br />

Excellent thermal precision is a result of the<br />

unique heat sink design, as well as from the<br />

heated lid with over tightening protection<br />

system.<br />

Ease of use and convenience<br />

The Arktik thermal cycler features a highly<br />

intuitive user interface with clear protocol<br />

display for highly efficient programming and<br />

operation. In addition, the instrument has the<br />

benefit of a low noise level.<br />

Superior performance<br />

Although only half the size of other instruments,<br />

the Piko thermal cycler provides superior<br />

thermal performance, fast ramping rates and<br />

quick settling times, offering excellent PCR<br />

efficiency and well-to-well consistency. It<br />

enables the user to complete PCR protocols in<br />

less than 15 minutes. The automatic heated lid<br />

function ensures consistent and tight sealing<br />

from run-to-run. High thermal performance<br />

makes the Piko thermal cycler suitable for<br />

conventional and fast PCR applications.<br />

Two formats – 24 and 96 well blocks<br />

Available in 24 and 96 well formats, the Piko<br />

thermal cycler can use low profile PCR tubes,<br />

8 tube strips as well as specialised 24 and 96<br />

well Piko PCR plates. The 24 and 96 well Ultra-<br />

Thin Walled (UTW) Piko plates allow better<br />

temperature transfer and are only ¼ of the size<br />

of conventional microplates. Despite this they<br />

maintain industry standard well spacing and<br />

are compatible with multichannel pipettes and<br />

liquid handling instruments.<br />

Reduced consumption<br />

The unique design of the heating block and small<br />

plate format allow significant savings both in<br />

energy and plastics consumption so helping to<br />

reduce the environmental impact of your PCR.<br />
