Guide For Nose Housing Rotation Convention<br />
Viewing the starter motor from the drive end, the solenoid switch is used as the zero<br />
degree position. The mounting hole on the fl ange opposite the pinion opening is then<br />
used as the pointer for the angular rotation of the nose.<br />

The data table shown above can be used to re-clock the nose housing position from one<br />
type of starter to another type by 30° at a time. Different nose housings will produce a<br />
different set of angles achievable within the specifi c range. By matching the original starter<br />
part number to the angle on the table, you can determine what the alternative starter part<br />
