LED Modules

LED (Light Emitting Diode)
is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as
panel indicator light in many devices, and are
increasingly used for lighting.
Introduced as a practical electronic component
started in 1960s, early LEDs emitted low-intensity
red light, for traffic light. But modern versions are
available across the visible, ultraviolet and infrared
wavelengths, with very high brightness. The present
red color traffic light is to use 18 red LEDs with 14
watt power consumption getting equal lighting effect
to 140W traditional incandescent bulb.
LED lights and LED lighting in general have now
become globally accepted as an efficient low energy
and low maintenance method of illumination. This is
largely due to advances in LED light technology.
LED lighting can be up to 10 times more energy
efficient than current incandescent lights.
LEDs present many advantages over incandescent
light sources including lower energy consumption,
longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size,
faster switching, and greater durability and reliance.
They are resistant to heat, cold, shock and vibration
and they do not flicker like fluorescent tubes.
The range of LED lighting is suitable for a wide
variety of applications including architectural, low
voltage, landscape, outdoor and nightclub lighting.
A wide range of low voltage LED lighting fixtures,
fittings and low voltage lighting power supplies are
available to allow trouble free installation in many
lighting projects.
In 1998, white LED is successfully developed to be
used direct replacement for incandescent bulbs and
halogen lamps. The lighting efficiency has been
achieved the equivalent brightness compared to
traditional bulbs till 2000 with even more
advantages of long lifetime, compact size, solid
with vibration resistance and non-pollution problem.
They also enjoy use in applications as diverse as
replacements for traditional light sources in
automotive lighting, particularly indicators and in
traffic signals.

incandescent light. They never flicker on and use no
ballast. It has been increasing used for Signage
Lighting, channel letters LEDs and Beacon Warning
Light.
