At-Risk Students<br />

While all two-year colleges have a significant number of at-risk students, certain regions have<br />

considerably more. Students are considered at-risk if they are less likely than the general population to<br />

meet their educational goals. The at-risk factors common to all two-year colleges include low-income<br />

and academically under-prepared students. To give some credit to colleges with more of these students,<br />

compensatory measures for low-income and under-prepared are included.<br />

Optional Measures<br />

To account for varying missions and regional demographics, seven optional measures from which<br />

colleges may select are included. Optional measures include STEM credentials, high-demand credentials,<br />

workforce training, transfer, adult completion, minority completion and employment.<br />

The following table provides a list of two-year college measures with definitions:<br />

The number of technical certificates awarded.<br />

The number of associate degrees awarded.<br />

The rate of credentials awarded relative to enrollment.<br />
