Vintage Motorsports magazine July/August 2009. On November 12, 2009, The Petersen Automotive Museum hosted a “Tribute To Trans Am”. George Follmer and members of the Roy Woods Racing team were honored guests. John Ryal’s, fabricator for RWR, and southern California resident, entertained the attendees with stories from “back in the day”. In addition, Ryals brought the Mark Donohue racing seat that was originally installed by Donohue in Javelin #1 back in 1970. In June of 1995, at the request of Juan Gonzalez, Ryals had removed the Donohue seat and replaced it with a more supportive aluminum seat. For the next fifteen years, Ryals safely stored the seat- waiting to return it to Javelin #1. At the “Tribute to Trans Am”, Ryals presented the current owner with the original seat for Javelin #1.
