M<strong>in</strong>ute 26: Testimony<br />
Part of the Testimony to the Grace of God as shown <strong>in</strong> the life of Margaret Aileen (Meg)<br />
Chignell (pages 55-59 of Epistles & testimonies) has been read.<br />
M<strong>in</strong>ute 27: Quaker Stewardship Committee<br />
Yearly Meet<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> 2003 accepted the proposals for the sett<strong>in</strong>g up of a Quaker Stewardship<br />
Committee, directly responsible to Yearly Meet<strong>in</strong>g. It also approved amendments to Quaker<br />
faith & practice describ<strong>in</strong>g this <strong>new</strong> body (m<strong>in</strong>ute 25). The work of this Committee will be<br />
reviewed by Yearly Meet<strong>in</strong>g 2006.<br />
Further to m<strong>in</strong>ute 22 of Yearly Meet<strong>in</strong>g held 2-5 May 2003, we confirm the <strong>in</strong>itial<br />
appo<strong>in</strong>tments to the Quaker Stewardship Committee made by Meet<strong>in</strong>g for Suffer<strong>in</strong>gs as<br />
follows:<br />

The Committee met for the first time on 30 April <strong>2004</strong> and we receive its m<strong>in</strong>ute QSC 04/04/1<br />
which endorses the draft terms of reference as approved by Meet<strong>in</strong>g for Suffer<strong>in</strong>gs that appear<br />
as Appendix J to the Annual report of Meet<strong>in</strong>g for Suffer<strong>in</strong>gs (Quaker work <strong>in</strong> 2003 pages<br />
110-112). We approve these terms of reference for the Committee.<br />
A draft bill on Charities for England and Wales has now been published and the Committee<br />
plans to submit a response on our behalf. The Committee is also consider<strong>in</strong>g the situation <strong>in</strong><br />
Scotland, <strong>in</strong> the Isle of Man and <strong>in</strong> the Channel Islands.<br />
M<strong>in</strong>ute 28: Receipt of the Yearly Meet<strong>in</strong>g General Epistle<br />
The Epistle Draft<strong>in</strong>g Committee appo<strong>in</strong>ted by m<strong>in</strong>ute 4 has submitted a draft Epistle, which<br />
has been read and accepted after amendment as the General Epistle.<br />
M<strong>in</strong>ute 29: Work<strong>in</strong>g Group on Representation, Communication and Accountability <strong>in</strong><br />
our Structures (RECAST)<br />
We have received a progress report from Ralph Molland, Clerk of the Work<strong>in</strong>g Group on<br />
Representation, Communication and Accountability <strong>in</strong> our structures sett<strong>in</strong>g out the timetable<br />
for the work that the Work<strong>in</strong>g Group still has to do <strong>in</strong> order to complete its remit. We look<br />
forward to receiv<strong>in</strong>g the f<strong>in</strong>al report of the Work<strong>in</strong>g Group at yearly meet<strong>in</strong>g next year.<br />
