The Environmental Stewardship Schemes in operation throughout the UK are designed to encourage large numbers<br />
of farmers and land managers to deliver simple but effective measures to improve the environment and to provide<br />
broad based habitats for a wide spectrum of wild life.<br />
Although the delivery mechanisms vary throughout the country from Entry Level Stewardship (ELS) and Land Managers Options (LMO) to<br />
the more prescriptive Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) and Rural Priorities (RP) the objectives are the same and many farmers have taken<br />
it upon themselves to go beyond the minimum requirements of the schemes in the provision of specific habitats for targeted species of<br />
birds, butterflies, bumblebees and other insects.<br />
One result of this rapidly increasing interest and emphasis on the environment, is that a vast array of different plant species and seed mixtures<br />
is now available and when game crops, wild flowers and fodder crops are added into the equation selection of the right mix for individual<br />
situations can be bewildering. To help guide land managers through this complex area <strong>HF</strong> <strong>Seeds</strong> has produced a 44 page Countryside<br />
