Lakes Area <strong>Community</strong> Band<br />
The Lakes Area <strong>Community</strong> Band,<br />
founded 19 years ago, is an all-yearround<br />
opportunity for the local musicians<br />
to get together once a week and “blow<br />
their horn”! This full-size concert band<br />
plays for local events and also performs<br />
numerous concert<br />
programs throughout<br />
the year. “We are<br />
always looking for<br />
musicians to join<br />
us”, says Director <strong>of</strong><br />
Music, Steve Porch.<br />
The band rehearses<br />
Monday evenings at<br />
7:00 p.m. in the <strong>Antioch</strong> High School<br />

Lakes Area Swing Band<br />
The Lakes Area Swing Band is a nonpr<strong>of</strong>it<br />
organization whose goal is to<br />
share the love <strong>of</strong> Big Band and Swing<br />
era music. The members are dedicated<br />
amateurs, drawn together to have fun,<br />
further their musical skills, learn, and give<br />
music back to the community.<br />
The Lakes Area Swing Band does this<br />
by attending rehearsals and performing<br />
pro-bono public performances for<br />
worthy causes and senior citizens. Paid<br />
performance donations are invested in the<br />
band operating costs and scholarships to<br />
further high school and college students’<br />
