1001 - Sport Balance Level 1 (W/S)
Gerard Recio and Janice Hutton
[Presented in English]
1:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Balance is the key link between strength and function. Safe and results-oriented balance training is much
more than standing on a balance apparatus. Techniques designed to improve proprioception, stability and
muscular coordination will reduce the incidence of injury as well as improve joint stability required for
improved power initiation. Static, dynamic and “act and react” balance challenge concepts will be taught
during this two-level certification for legs, core and upper body exercises. Acclimation, progression and
regression are suitable for fitness, sport conditioning and rehabilitation. Designation: Sport Balance Specialist
(SB1). Sponsored by TWIST CONDITIONING INC. 4 FIS, 4 PTS, 4 SCS
This hands-on practical workshop includes an in-depth analysis of the more challenging Resist-A-Ball® strength
Sally Knight and Stephane Andre
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
This workshop is ideal for the personal trainer who wants to learn a variety of STOTT PILATES exercises
incorporating the foam roller to cue alignment while challenging core strength, peripheral strength and
balance. The workshop will be experiential and include tips for cueing and correcting exercises. A series of
initial level exercises will be covered followed by several more challenging exercises that decrease the base of
support while working against the unstable nature of the roller. Correct alignment, breath, movement patterns
