The <strong>in</strong>structor reserves the right to add to, delete from, or otherwise amend this syllabus <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g curriculum,<br />

schedule, assignments, and grad<strong>in</strong>g procedures at any time throughout the semester. It is your responsibility to<br />

keep track of changes <strong>in</strong> schedul<strong>in</strong>g and assignments.<br />

If you ever become frustrated or feel you cannot complete this class with<strong>in</strong> the time period, please contact me. The<br />

assignments may seem overwhelm<strong>in</strong>g, but they are spaced so that if you keep on-task, you will be able to complete<br />

them and pass the class. Please feel free to contact me whenever you have a question or concern.<br />

Academic Dishonesty<br />

Accord<strong>in</strong>g to University policies, students who plagiarize or cheat may receive an F <strong>in</strong> the course and must be<br />

Standard Grad<strong>in</strong>g Rubric<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g standards apply to all assignments.<br />

• Work that is not proofed:<br />

o 2 grammar, spell<strong>in</strong>g, mechanics or parallel structure errors: -5% of the assignment grad<strong>in</strong>g scale<br />

o 3-4 grammar, spell<strong>in</strong>g, mechanics or parallel structure errors: -10%;<br />

o more than 5 grammar, spell<strong>in</strong>g, mechanics or parallel structure errors: -15%<br />

• Incomplete or miss<strong>in</strong>g citations: -20%<br />

• Documents received <strong>in</strong> files other than .rtf or .doc: -5%<br />

• Files with <strong>in</strong>correct nam<strong>in</strong>g scheme: -5%<br />

o An example of a correct nam<strong>in</strong>g scheme is SueSmith_WRIT_<strong>3130</strong>-<strong>3150</strong> _Hedge<br />

Deductions for assignments that do not meet the other, specific m<strong>in</strong>imum requirements will vary.
