6. Champions in the classroom
and on the court
Competition didn’t only happen on the basketball
court for last year’s graduating class of Clarksville High
girls basketball players. For a number of students in
CMCSS, athletics gives students an opportunity to
excel in sports while paying close attention to their
academics. What resulted at CHS were five girls from
the Lady Wildcats team receiving Division 1 college
scholarships. Tiasha Gray to APSU; Jessy Ward to
Mississippi State; Bashaara Graves to UT-Knoxville;
Chandler Cooper to University of Florida; and Tia
Nicholson (not pictured) to Tennessee Tech.
