MAY 16: SANTORINI, GREECE Arrive 8AM–Depart 6PM Famed for its spectacular sunsets, the island’s distinctive crescent shape is the result of an enormous volcanic eruption thousands of years ago. Behold a panorama of indigo-domed churches and chalk-colored homes clinging to stony cliffs along the caldera, black sand beaches dotted with pebbles beside deep, azure waters, and breathtaking rock formations climbing from the volcanic floor—here is the epitome of Grecian beauty. MAY 17: EPHESUS/KUSADASI, TURKEY Arrive 8AM–Depart 6PM The port of Kusadasi, until recently a fishing and farming village, is today a resort town offering lovely beaches and plenty of shops. Nearby is the legendary ruined city of Ephesus, a veritable museum of Greek and Roman history with impeccably preserved relics from its ancient past. MAY 18: RHODES, GREECE Arrive 8AM–Depart 6PM Rich in history and steeped in legend, the largest of the Dodecanese (or Twelve Islands) is located on the eastern edge of the Aegean Sea. Home to an ancient acropolis, white-washed towns and the medieval walled city known as Rhodes Town, the island’s stunning scenery is of equal splendor—dreamy beaches and an average of more than 300 days of sunshine each year. MAY 19: MYKONOS, GREECE Arrive 8AM–Depart 5PM Amid the shimmering waters of the Mediterranean is the heart and soul of the Cyclades: Mykonos. Situated on an island of the same name, the town artfully balances glitz, glamour and classic Greek culture with its labyrinth of cobblestone streets and chalk-white houses beside classic blue-domed churches. MAY 20: KAVALA, GREECE Arrive 8AM–Depart 5PM Crowned by a Byzantine fortress, the second largest city in northern Greece rests on an ascending slope along the palm-lined Bay of Kavala. In addition to the massive fortress, this ancient city dating back to the 6th century BC is dotted with museums and brimming with cultural landmarks like the Turkish Imaret and the Kamares aqueduct, built by Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th century.
