CONNECTED LINES (FEB 2013 – FEB 2014) From Feb 2013 to Feb 2014 there has been a steady increase in number of connected GSM lines across Nigeria. From 143,372,286 connected lines in Feb 2013 to 167,371,945 in Feb 2014. However, there was a drop in connected lines in May 2013 and September 2013. ACTIVE LINES (FEB 2013 – FEB 2014) There has also been an increase in the number of non-‐active lines between the periods of Feb 2013 to Feb 2014. From about 30 million in Feb 2013 to over 42 million in Feb 2014.
INSTALLED CAPACITY (FEB 2013 – FEB 2014) From the data on the Installed capacity, it can be observed that all telecoms companies still have the capacity is accommodate more subscribers. However there was a decrease in installed capacity between May 2013 and September 2013, which also led to a decrease in amount of connected and active lines for these months. From the data above, it can be said that majority of telecom subscribers make use of GSM over CDMA and Fixed Wired/Wireless lines, with a steady decrease in connected and active lines observed from Feb 2013 to Feb 2014. TELEDENSITY (FEB 2013 – FEB 2014) There has been an increase in the teledensity of telecoms subscribers from Feb 2013 to Feb 2014 with a slight drop between July and August 2013.
