Lights, Camera, Action!
Remington Youngblood and Hunter Winkler are ambitious
sixth-grade student journalists, from South
Forsyth, producing a documentary. Recently, they had
the pleasure and privilege of interviewing United States
Senator Johnny Isakson. In the hallway of his Atlanta
office, he met the boys with a smile and a firm, warm
handshake. For thirty minutes, they had a comfortable
conversation full of laughter and insight.
During the interview, the Senator offered three strong
pieces of advice for today’s youth:
r “Success in life is dependent on relationships
and how well you interact with people.”
r Get engaged in your future and what is happening
now. Interact with “those people
who’ve already been through a lot of their life
and can look back and give [you] advice.”
r “You get to where you are by often times
starting and failing. But, by making the effort,
you build on what you learn and on experience.”

The young filmmakers’ objective is to spend a year
gathering insights, and life lessons from remarkable,
successful Georgians living the American Dream.
Among their list of prospective interviewees are the
fourteen Georgia Fortune 500 Company CEOs. “It’s
an educational tool for our generation to help prepare
them for the future,” said Remington. “We are reaching
for the stars because this is so important.”
