1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose of the Survey
1.1.1 This report sets out the results of a botanical survey for the Stonehenge Environmental
Improvements Project. The purpose of this study is to inform a baseline against which the
effects of development options and proposals can be assessed in relation to impacts on
ecological and nature conservation resources..
1.1.2 The scope of the study includes:
• Identification of plant species and communities present within and around shortlisted site
option Appraisal Areas; and
• Evaluation of the identified plant species and communities in relation to their nature
conservation importance.
1.2 Study Area
1.2.1 The Study Areas within and around the shortlisted site options for new visitor facilities 1 chosen
for the purposes of the botanical surveys are shown on Figure 1.1.
