The ratios are slightly higher than those of fracture- and karst-filling calcites and are significantly higher than those of bulk carbonate rocks (Jiang et al. 2001) and coeval seawater (Burke et al. 1982) (Fig. 7). The formation waters have higher 87 Sr ⁄ 86 Sr ratios in the wells in the west than in the east of the Tahe area (not shown). 13 C HCO3 values of the 24 formation water samples range from )6& to )13.8&.
