needy.
All in all, I came away feeling confident that working
together, especially with our young members, we can
make a difference in the quality of life for all.

Report from Diana Dilley
This conference proved to be extremely
informative. The speakers were entertaining while
providing a great deal of information, most particularly
about the current political climate. They impressed
upon us the importance of keeping up with the
candidates running for election in the current
Provincial campaign. They provided information on
the candidates and their attitudes about unions and
the current financial difficulties all Ontarians are
facing. We were all tasked with sharing with our
members the importance of knowing these
candidates and their platforms so that we are well
informed before casting our ballots in October.
Since an overwhelming number of locals will be
entering into bargaining within the next year (including
our own) the results of this Provincial election will
have a direct impact on the bargaining process.

Worksite Visits
September 6, 2011 will be the start of a new school
year. A reminder that Your Shop Steward and I are
willing to visit worksites. We enjoy visiting and meeting
with our members in smaller groups.
This enables us to spend time together talking about
concerns and chat about issues pertaining to our
Local, (contractual issues etc.) I am available before
or after school, or lunchtime. Your Shop Steward can
come after school. Give us a call in September to
arrange a time.

All members please remember to wear appropriate footwear
according to the weather conditions.
SE50 Forms(CASES OF AGGRESSION)
SE50 Forms (Cases of Aggression) are available on the First
Class. Please fill in these forms for all incidents of aggression.
They can be downloaded from the Boards website.. Please fill
them in for ALL acts of aggression. This is extremely
important. Ensure to retain a copy for yourself.

Thank you very much for the beautiful retirement party
held in my honour and thanks to all who attended. It
was a beautiful evening and a lovely way to end my
work career.
It was my pleasure to work as President of this Local
and to work with you all.
I look forward to this new chapter in my life and I wish
you good luck in all that you do.
