wanted to be a doctor or a physician assistant.<br />
“Now that she’s doing this research,” Arruda says,<br />
“Sasha may go to graduate school for research,<br />
which is really what INBRE is all about.”<br />
The current INBRE grant is supporting<br />
<strong>Franklin</strong> <strong>Pierce</strong> with $200,000 for two and a<br />
half years. After the first two and a half years are<br />
up, Arruda will be able to reapply for another<br />
$200,000 to further the retinal disease research.<br />
As <strong>Franklin</strong> <strong>Pierce</strong> enhances offerings in Health<br />
Sciences, we hope to offer more opportunities<br />
for student research in the future.<br />
