key aspect of the underlying theme in all our efforts to promote Borneo with<br />
its unique heritage, diversity of cultures and adventures on both land and sea.<br />
Another positive factor for investors in Sarawak came from the recent budget<br />
announcement whereby Real Property Gains Tax will be lowered for first time<br />
home buyers which means that those intending to make Malaysia My Second<br />
Home can also stand to gain. The move will also boost the housing sector<br />
in Sarawak and the extra benefits to SCORE (Sarawak Corridor Renewable<br />
Energy). It will also create jobs opportunities as well as demand for housing in<br />
the coastal areas of Sarawak.<br />
The recent turmoil in the western economies of Europe may affect some<br />
aspects of tourism in Asia but Sarawak’s niche offerings, unique flavours and<br />
unassuming friendliness will continue to attract the crowd. Understandably,<br />
Sarawak must also strive to add more packages and offerings, which give<br />
tourists value for money and enjoyment to make their stay here a memorable<br />
one. All players in the tour industry here have to continue to be innovative<br />
and supportive of each other while fostering closer rapport with foreign<br />
partners.<br />
