an Employment Pathway Plan, tailored to your individual needs.<br />
Th<strong>is</strong> plan will set out the services and training that will help you<br />
find and keep a job. Th<strong>is</strong> may include help:<br />
•z writing a résumé<br />
•z accessing work experience opportunities<br />
•z gaining new skills or qualifications<br />
•z overcoming other barriers to employment.<br />
Your <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Services</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> provider will work with you every<br />
step of the way by getting to know you and your individual<br />
circumstances. Your plan can be built around you—and th<strong>is</strong> will<br />
increase your chances of getting a job.<br />
Your <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Services</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> provider will work with local<br />
employers, reg<strong>is</strong>tered training organ<strong>is</strong>ations, State, Territory and<br />
local governments, community and health services, and other<br />
organ<strong>is</strong>ations. They will know where the jobs are and what to do<br />
to help you get one. You will have greater access to training,<br />
skills development and other flexible ass<strong>is</strong>tance when you<br />
require it. Th<strong>is</strong> includes gaining work experience and access to<br />
other initiatives.<br />
Work experience will help you to:<br />
•z develop your skills on the job<br />
•z demonstrate your abilities to potential employers<br />
•z obtain references<br />
•z meet new work contacts<br />
•z take part in structured training<br />
•z stay connected to the workforce.<br />
Work Experience Activities can be part time, casual or full time,<br />
and either paid or unpaid. It can include:<br />
•z Work for the Dole and other voluntary work<br />
•z Green Corps environmental activities (which <strong>is</strong> now available<br />
to all eligible job seekers)<br />
•z work in a social enterpr<strong>is</strong>e<br />
•z Drought <strong>Force</strong><br />
•z Defence <strong>Force</strong> Reserves<br />
•z Structured training.<br />
Other initiatives can also help you to overcome barriers to<br />
getting a job. You may be eligible for one of the following<br />
programs.<br />
New Enterpr<strong>is</strong>e Incentive Scheme provides the necessary<br />
training, mentoring and support to help you start a small<br />
business.<br />
Productivity Places Program provides places in training<br />
courses delivered by reg<strong>is</strong>tered training organ<strong>is</strong>ations where you<br />
can gain new qualifications or upgrade your ex<strong>is</strong>ting<br />
qualifications.<br />
<strong>Australia</strong>n Apprenticeships Access Program <strong>is</strong> a free,<br />
nationally recogn<strong>is</strong>ed industry training program that gives you<br />
basic skills to help you secure an <strong>Australia</strong>n Apprenticeship.<br />
Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program<br />
provides free training to improve your reading, writing or<br />
maths skills.<br />
Extra help<br />
Your <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Services</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> provider can offer you special<strong>is</strong>ed<br />
services if you are assessed as being highly d<strong>is</strong>advantaged.<br />
Depending on the type of d<strong>is</strong>advantage you face, you can<br />
receive specific services to help you find a job. Higher levels of<br />
funding and more ass<strong>is</strong>tance are available to help you if you are<br />
highly d<strong>is</strong>advantaged.<br />
If you are homeless, a person with d<strong>is</strong>ability, an at-r<strong>is</strong>k young<br />
person, or experience mental health <strong>is</strong>sues, your provider will<br />
help you to get the support and ass<strong>is</strong>tance suited to your<br />
circumstances. Th<strong>is</strong> could include mental health support<br />
services, counselling, rehabilitation services, financial counselling<br />
and anger management.<br />
All <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Services</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> providers can deliver specific services<br />
to meet your needs if you are a highly d<strong>is</strong>advantaged job seeker.<br />
You may also be given the choice of attending a special<strong>is</strong>t<br />
<strong>Job</strong> <strong>Services</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> provider, for example, a Youth or D<strong>is</strong>ability<br />
special<strong>is</strong>t, that operate in many locations across <strong>Australia</strong>.<br />
<strong>Job</strong> seekers with d<strong>is</strong>ability and mental<br />
health conditions<br />
If you are a person with d<strong>is</strong>ability or experience mental health<br />
<strong>is</strong>sues and have special workplace support needs, you may be<br />
eligible for the D<strong>is</strong>ability Employment Network or Vocational<br />
Rehabilitation <strong>Services</strong>. Centrelink or your <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Services</strong> <strong>Australia</strong><br />
provider can talk to you about your eligibility and refer you to<br />
have your eligibility assessed if needed.<br />
A D<strong>is</strong>ability Employment Network member can help you<br />
with special<strong>is</strong>t ass<strong>is</strong>tance and provide ongoing support to<br />
help you find and keep a job. D<strong>is</strong>ability Employment Network<br />
<strong>is</strong> delivered by a network of organ<strong>is</strong>ations—both large and<br />
small—around <strong>Australia</strong>.<br />
A Vocational Rehabilitation <strong>Services</strong> provider can provide<br />
ass<strong>is</strong>tance and support if you have an injury, d<strong>is</strong>ability or health<br />
condition and need ass<strong>is</strong>tance to find or keep a job. Vocational<br />
Rehabilitation <strong>Services</strong> providers develop individual programs<br />
that focus on your strengths and abilities, and the barriers you<br />
face in getting employment.<br />
