Awards and Recognition
Throughout our history, Corning has

accomplishments have been recognized
with a number of prestigious awards and
accolades. Receiving such recognition

technological innovator. Two exceptional
awards earned by Corning include the
National Medal of Technology and the
Malcolm Baldrige National Quality
Award. Not just once, but four times, the
President has presented Corning with the
National Medal of Technology, which is
the highest award given to American
innovators “for life-changing, lifeenhancing
inventions.” The Malcolm
Baldrige National Quality Award was
presented to Corning Optical Fiber in
1995 for achieving the highest levels of
performance excellence.
We are equally proud of having won the
Catalyst Award, which honors innovative,
proven approaches to the recruitment,
development and advancement of all
managerial women, including women of
color. Through this award, Catalyst
provides the business community with
replicable success models to help
corporations and professional firms create
initiatives that are good for women and
good for business. Corning takes great
pride in being such a role model, and in
being one of a very few companies to
have won the Catalyst Award twice.
Additionally, Corning consistently ranks
in the top of our category in Fortune
magazine’s most admired companies list,
and is included annually on dozens of
