Provenance: Julius Gans, Southwest Arts and Crafts, 1936, includes two page description signed Julius Gans, “This is a<br />

very old ‘tinajon’ made in the pueblo of Zia and used for generations for storage of grains, etc. This tinajon has been in<br />

our possession for over fifteen years and is one of the finest museum specimens we have ever collected.” Collected from<br />

Gans by Howard Whiting Beach (1882-1942), and descended in the family.<br />
