FLORIDA<br />
Florida ranks number one for many things - Orlando is synonymous with<br />
capital theme parks - from the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World<br />
Resort and Universal Studios to SeaWorld Orlando and Legoland Florida.<br />
Palm Beach is the top vacation destination in the US, seasonal home of<br />
many powerful billionaires and business magnates it’s a playground for<br />
the rich and famous, with world-class golfing, tennis, equestrian facilities<br />
and shopping. Last but certainly not least is Miami, well-known for its<br />
fabulous beaches including the famous South Beach, and for trendy<br />
nightlife, the Art Deco district, Calle Ocho and Little Havana. As such, this<br />
aptly named Sunshine state doesn’t just have something for everyone, it<br />
has a great deal for everyone.<br />
WHATS ON<br />
February brings ‘Florida State Festival’, where over 86 shows and<br />
rides can be enjoyed at the southeast’s largest fair. Enjoy an array<br />
of musical performances and stage shows from the neighbouring<br />
Caribbean Islands at the Tampa Festival in June. Guavaween, also<br />
in Tampa, is not to be missed, come October this event brings<br />
Halloween festivities that you won’t find anywhere else.<br />
HOW TO GET THERE<br />
British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and American Airlines fly daily<br />
from London Heathrow to Miami. British Airways fly 6x per<br />
week into Tampa from London Gatwick. British Airways fly from<br />
London Gatwick to Orlando five times a week during the winter<br />
and daily during the summer. Virgin Atlantic flies to Orlando from<br />
London Gatwick (daily), Manchester (6x per week) and Glasgow<br />
(twice per week) From June <strong>2015</strong>, Virgin Atlantic will also operate<br />
from Belfast – Orlando, once per week in June and July.<br />
WHEN TO TRAVEL<br />
There is no “bad time” to visit Florida as it boasts warm temperatures<br />
and sunshine year round with an average yearly temperature of<br />
28ºC. Winters can be milder but remain sunny while summers are<br />
warm with occasional short showers.<br />
