This special technology means the YuMicron CX generates more power, requires less maintenance, and lasts longer than any other conventional battery. More Power Because of its unique design, the CX will generate 5% to 8% more cold cranking amperage than our own highoutput YuMicron lead-antimony battery. For high compression machines, this means greater reserve capacity and more starting power. Less Maintenance The YuMicron CX lead calcium technology also reduces water loss, so the CX requires servicing (water filling) only about one-eighth as often as ordinary lead-antimony types. Longer Life The YuMicron CX holds its specific gravity more than three times as long as leadantimony type batteries resulting in a longer shelf life. The plates in an AGM battery may be flat like a wet cell lead-acid battery in a rectangular case. In cylindrical AGMs, the plates are thin and wound, like most consumer disposable and rechargeable cells, into spirals so they are also sometimes referred to as spiral wound. Their unique (for lead-acid chemistries) construction also allows for the lead in their plates to be purer as they no longer need to support their own weight as in traditional cells. Their internal resistance is lower than traditional cells due to plate proximity and the pure lead plates have lower resistivity, they handle higher temperatures better, and self-discharge more slowly. These batteries are often referred to as sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries due to their non-leaking containers. Their specific power is very good and they can be charged and discharged quite rapidly. They are often used in high performance electric vehicles due to their high power density. An AGM battery is a lead-acid electric storage battery that: g is sealed using special pressure valves and should never be opened g is completely maintenance-free g has all of its electrolyte absorbed in separators consisting g of a sponge-like mass of matted glass fibers g uses a recombination reaction to prevent the escape of g hydrogen and oxygen gases normally lost in a flooded g lead-acid battery (particularly in deep cycle applications) g is non-spillable, and therefore can be operated in virtually any position. However, upside-down installation is not recommended GS-CB high performance series uses a special lead alloy to reduce self discharge and maximize starting power, even after months of storage. The CB series uses an active material compound designed to resist vibration and has the most advanced technological battery construction methods. GS Conventional uses patented polymion technology and advanced separator technology to reduce resistance and to generate 30% more starting power than other conventional batteries as well as shorter charge time and superior charge retention.
