The RES system has been<br />
available to qualifying platforms<br />
since April/May 2013. Platforms<br />
that will receive the initial issue will<br />
be contacted by Navy Command<br />
(NAVY SSM-SS E SUPPORT<br />
SO3) detailing the expected<br />
onload date and further information<br />
regarding the RES system.<br />
The RES system is expected to<br />
provide a reduction in Operational<br />
Capability losses for operationally<br />
deployed platforms and an<br />
increase in the defect diagnosis<br />
and repair capability of the<br />
onboard maintainer. The RES<br />
system aims to bring the onboard<br />
maintainer back to the centre of<br />
the support solution with the OEM<br />

acting as a support mechanism<br />
instead of the primary repair<br />
solution provider. Once the initial<br />
issue has been rolled out, it is<br />
intended to publish details of<br />
