The Adelaide Thinkers in Residence Program
Developed in South Australia in 2003, the Adelaide Thinkers in Residence program brings new ideas into
the state and translates them into practical solutions to improve the lives of the people who live here.
The program sets out to:
• generate new thinking
• inspire momentum
• provoke change; and,
• activate results for the people of South Australia
In eight years of operation, the Adelaide Thinkers in Residence program has delivered positive changes
in South Australia in a rapid timeframe.
Since 2003, the program has resulted in more than $200 million of investment in programs and
infrastructure, both in South Australia and across the nation.
Residencies have looked at subjects including health, education, water, technology, climate change,
transport, design and road safety.
