for this mo<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> mercy has never failed to take<br />

pity on misery and console <strong>the</strong> wretched who<br />

seek her aid ;<br />

and <strong>the</strong>refore, if not from obliga<br />

tion, at least from compassion, she will not fail<br />

to induce her Son to pardon me.f<br />

Look upon us, <strong>the</strong>n, we will conclude with<br />

<strong>the</strong> words <strong>of</strong> Euthymius, look upon us, <strong>the</strong>n,<br />

with thine eyes <strong>of</strong> compassion, oh our most mer<br />

ciful mo<strong>the</strong>r, for we are thy servants, and in <strong>the</strong>e<br />

we have placed all our hope.f<br />
