Basic Rules by Division<br />
◊ Micro<br />
-Teach the basics of giving/taking a snap and handoff<br />
-Teach the children to stay behind the (2) yard buffer zone until the QB releases the ball<br />
-<strong>Coaches</strong> will officiate / monitor the game<br />
-All kids will rotate every position<br />
-The defense cannot cross the Line of Scrimmage until the ball leaves the QB’s hands – The defense will line up<br />
behind the (2) yard buffer zone designated by discs<br />
-No Downs: After each player runs once, the offense will switch to defense and vice versa<br />
-Each team will get (3-4) possessions and games will not last longer than (30) minutes<br />
-Score will not be kept<br />
-Possessions will start (4) yards from mid-field facing the goal line<br />
◊ Mini<br />
-Interceptions cannot be returned<br />
-QB cannot run unless he/she receives a handoff, lateral, or pitch behind the line of scrimmage<br />
-Defensive rusher has the right away to the QB<br />
-Rusher must be 9 yards off the line of scrimmage for Mini’s<br />
-Rusher must go for QB’s flag during rush<br />
-Teams will have 4 downs to achieve either a first down<br />
-The No-Run Zones are not in effect for this age division<br />
-Whenever a lateral, pitch, or handoff occurs the 9 yard rush line is no longer in effect<br />
-Two coaches are permitted on the field for both the offensive and defensive teams<br />
◊ Junior<br />
-Interceptions cannot be returned<br />
-No blocking or screening or any kind<br />
-QB cannot run unless he/she receives a handoff, lateral, or pitch behind the line of scrimmage<br />
-Defensive rusher has the right away to the QB<br />
-Rusher must be 7 yards off the line of scrimmage for JR’s<br />
-Rusher must go for QB’s flag during rush<br />
-Teams will have 4 downs to achieve either a first down<br />
-No-Run Zones are located 4 yards prior to a first down or a TD<br />
-Whenever a lateral, pitch, or handoff occurs the 7 yard rush line is no longer in effect<br />
-One coach is permitted on the field for both the offensive and defensive teams<br />
◊ Senior / Varsity<br />
