There was a time when officers carried only a baton, a gun and maybe a can of
Mace ® . But the options today are much wider and more complex. To put them in
perspective, the Defense Technology brand has created a circular force array
model. The officer is in the center, with all the surrounding force options instantly
available for use. This mirrors real-life situations, when lives and safety depend
on split-second decisions. The Defense Technology brand solutions fall into three
categories: soft physical techniques, hard physical techniques and intermediate
weapons. To better convey the proper use of our products in this catalog, we
identify each one by its corresponding force array level on the chart in the back
of this catalog.
