Plans Developed as a Result <strong>of</strong> These Findings<br />

Specific remedial or disciplinary acti<strong>on</strong>s were taken as a result <strong>of</strong> performance<br />

deficiencies revealed by the evaluati<strong>on</strong> process. Most <strong>of</strong>ten this involved the<br />

development <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essi<strong>on</strong>al improvement plans. In additi<strong>on</strong>, changes in<br />

instituti<strong>on</strong>al process have been addressed when warranted.<br />

Overall Sense <strong>of</strong> Satisfacti<strong>on</strong> C<strong>on</strong>cerning the <strong>Faculty</strong> <strong>Performance</strong> <strong>Review</strong><br />

Appropriate stakeholders were involved in the formulati<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> the instituti<strong>on</strong>’s<br />

faculty performance evaluati<strong>on</strong> plan. Most faculty members viewed the process<br />

as a useful tool for providing c<strong>on</strong>tinuous assessment and improvement in<br />

instructi<strong>on</strong> delivery and student learning.<br />

Efforts in Working with <strong>Faculty</strong> Having Dem<strong>on</strong>strated Deficiencies in the<br />

Use <strong>of</strong> the English Language<br />

The English language pr<strong>of</strong>iciency <strong>of</strong> faculty members at all instituti<strong>on</strong>s was<br />

assessed prior to employment and then <strong>on</strong> an <strong>on</strong>going basis through student and<br />

administrator evaluati<strong>on</strong>s <strong>of</strong> faculty members’ classroom performances. A<br />

variety <strong>of</strong> means including increased use <strong>of</strong> PowerPoint presentati<strong>on</strong>s, required<br />

participati<strong>on</strong> in English as a Sec<strong>on</strong>d Language courses, and accent reducti<strong>on</strong><br />

training were used to remedy the few deficiencies that were found.<br />

Compliance with Statutory Requirements that Colleges <strong>of</strong> Educati<strong>on</strong> Work<br />

Collaboratively with Accredited Public Schools<br />

The collaborati<strong>on</strong> between Colleges <strong>of</strong> Educati<strong>on</strong> and the public schools in their<br />

respective areas was documented in these reports. Instituti<strong>on</strong>s partnered with<br />

public schools through Educati<strong>on</strong>al Renewal Z<strong>on</strong>e, sec<strong>on</strong>dary career centers,<br />

educati<strong>on</strong>al cooperatives, and other programs that encouraged high school<br />

students to pursue postsec<strong>on</strong>dary educati<strong>on</strong>. Instituti<strong>on</strong>s also engaged in<br />

numerous activities that provided assistance with staff development and school<br />

improvement programs, including advisory councils, pr<strong>of</strong>essi<strong>on</strong>al development,<br />

mentoring programs, teacher job fairs, and data collecti<strong>on</strong> and needs<br />

assessments.<br />
