UNITED WAY<br />
IS HERE<br />
This past year, we decided it was time for United Way<br />
to step up its role in our community even more. We<br />
conducted market research to hear from our donors,<br />
volunteers and partners about why United Way matters<br />
and how we can continue to get the word out into<br />
the community about the important work we are all<br />
doing together.<br />
You told us that United Way is a valuable tool for<br />
putting out the fires in our community: low high<br />
school graduation rates, low financial stability and<br />
high rates of obesity.<br />
When there’s a fire, it’s up to us to break the glass and<br />
reach for the extinguisher. It’s an instinct. Deep down,<br />
we know it’s up to all of us to protect and nourish<br />
each other. So as we move into 2014-2015, we are<br />
calling on all of you to be our first responders – and<br />
United Way will be your fire extinguisher.<br />
