Our senior acupuncturist Igor Zielinski L.Ac has been practicing Western and
Chinese Medicine for over 20 years. Starting out as an MD in Poland Igor quickly
discovered that his passion lies in addressing health problems with Traditional
Chinese Medicine. He is now an expert in consulting and treating patients with
autoimmune diseases, fertility challenges and acute and chronic pain syndromes.

Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver
Traditional Chinese Medicine has developed over more than 2000 years. It
includes herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage (Tui Na), exercise (Qi Gong) and
dietary therapy. Acupuncture is one of the main branches of Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TCM).
During the initial evaluation the practitioner of Chinese Medicine will listen to
your pulse and examine your tongue. There will be a thorough questioning of
your current and past health history. An extensive physical examination will
include palpation of painful areas and general observation of your facial color,
body type and speech. Through this process we can establish an accurate
assessment of your condition and develop a treatment plan based on Chinese
medicine.
In Chinese medicine, there are many cases in which specific illnesses are treated
before symptoms arise. This is the true essence of the medicine. We might
suggest dietary or life style changes to assist you in achieving better overall longterm
health.

medical approach is based on the whole person and the cause of a problem, not
just symptoms. At our Acupuncture Clinic we provide treatments based on
Traditional Chinese Medicine. Consultations include acupuncture treatments,
prescription of herbal medicine, nutritional counseling and Tui Na (joint release
technique) if indicated.
We believe that the body can heal itself when given the right conditions. Factors
that can cause disease may be related to environmental toxins, emotional stress
and/or trauma.

Denver Lymphedema Care
We are excited to offer comprehensive care for patients with lymphedema. At
Avicenna Lymphedema Care we provide lymphedema prevention education,
lymphedema screening and lymphedema treatment. Toward the end of your
treatment course we will recommend and measure you for adequate garment
solutions.
What is Lymphedema?
When a person has lymphedema the ability of the lymphatic system to transport
fluid has been compromised. This results in an accumulation of protein rich fluid
in the tissue spaces that cannot move back effectively through the lymph vessels.
Signs and Symptoms of Lymphedema
Initially lymphedema is most often experienced as a swelling or tightness of one
limb. This does not always mean that the patient has a visible increase in the size
of a limb. At times patients notice that clothing fits tighter around one limb or
that jewelry does not fit anymore or leaves with deep imprints.
