James dislikes when I receive them with a kiss on the cheek. After the meeting, I was alone with James to discuss the most important aspects of the meeting and how the members had reacted. Isabella: Then, Mr. Lawrence does not want to work with this project? James: You were great last night. Isabella: Mr. Lawrence doesn't want to… James: Don’t lie Isabella, I know you liked it. But no, I wasn’t going to show my weakness. If I wanted to keep my job and all the luxuries he gave me, I had to lie and this night I´ll do it perfectly. When I was at my house I couldn’t resist anymore!! James will kill me! Noooo!!! “I have to go to Baja California right now” I thought. So, that afternoon, I met with a personal friend of Vanessa, I asked him for help, almost desperate, he made me a new identity card. I was decided to change everything about my life even my name. I´m not going to be more Isabella Pinto anymore, my new name would be Isabella Casanova. I was very grateful with him, and most importantly, we close the agreement by signing a confidentiality contract. No one could know that before I was Isabella Pinto and much less that I had worked for the famous James Brown. He signed it, for my part, I gave him a part of the money I promised to pay him for doing that work, and I´m going to give him the other part of the money when he gave me the new documents. I felt more relaxed and aware that although James would do everything possible to find me, but it will be so difficult to find me. I start packing to leave everything ready for tomorrow, to fly to my new destination. I was extremely anxious, but really nervous at the same time because I have to find a new job, meet new people but I´ll do everything to have a new and happy life. I called my mom to tell her every detail of my plan, I trusted her more than anyone in this world. I knew that despite not agree with my decision, she would support me. Isabella: Mom, I need to tell you something. Mom: Are you pregnant!!?? Isabella: No mom, it something more important. Mom: Tell me, you know that you can count on me. Isabella: Mom…. I… I don’t want that my mom get worried about me, I need to be strong but some tears came from my 8
eyes… I need her hugs, her advice, and her love! I don’t need to say that I miss her so much. Isabella: I had some problems in the company. Mom: Are you okay? Cause I can hear you crying. – She said worried. Isabella: I am better that never mom, is just that, I miss you. Sometimes I'd like to have you every day with me. I keep thinking about the day to see you again. I promise that I´m going to Puerto Rico as soon as possible. Mom: I´ll waiting for you honey, I miss you so much. Isabella: Miss you too mom, well I have to say goodbye. I´ll call you later. Mom: Ok Isabella, take care. I love you Isabella: Take care too. I love you so much. Bye Vanessa´s friend gave me the documents and I was ready to go to the airport and ready for live my new life. After that I pick up my things and I said goodbye to Vanessa, I´ll miss her so much; she was like a sister for me. Isabella: Well, it´s time to say goodbye for now Vanessa. Thanks for everything you have done for me. – I started to cry. Vanessa: I´ll miss you too Isabella you are like a sister for me. I hope to see again in the future but don´t forget to call me one at a time! Isabella: Don´t worry about it. Make sure that James won´t know anything about where I am because If he find me he´s going to kill me! –I said nervous. Vanessa: Shut up! Don’t say that and don’t worry about it. It´s too late hurry up if you don’t want to lose your flight! Isabella: Promise that you will be ok…. – I gave her a hug and I took a taxi to the airport.
