Hilton Hotels Renews its Third Year of Sponsorship On September 8, 2003, Hilton Hotels Corporation announced that it would renew its third year of sponsorship of The HistoryMakers. Hilton’s support was officially recognized at The HistoryMakers celebrity event, An Evening With B.B. King, where Gerhard Seibert, area vice president, Midwest and general manager of the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago served as an honorary co-chair. Floyd Pitts, Hilton Hotels Corporation’s Senior Director of Diversity Programs noted,“The HistoryMakers archive demonstrates the rich and wonderful past, present and future of African Americans in the United States. Hilton Hotels is proud to support an initiative that incorporates new technologies for education.” In years past, Hilton Hotels has offered in-kind support providing lodging for production crews and talent during celebrity interviews. In 2004, Hilton will host Salutes to the HistoryMakers in four markets across the nation.
