The <strong>Hartford</strong> Police Department boasts over 100 years <strong>of</strong> cumulative Support Staff Experience! In<br />
Fact, the average Support Staff member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Hartford</strong> Police Department brings 10.4 years <strong>of</strong> experience<br />
with them every day. One <strong>of</strong> the unique aspects <strong>of</strong> the individuals who make up our Support<br />
Staff is that we are blessed to have extremely experienced Part-Time Communications Officers.<br />
Our Full-Time Communications <strong>of</strong>ficers share over 40 years <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional dispatching experience,<br />
which is impressive in and <strong>of</strong> itself, but our Part-Time Communications Officers are right<br />
behind them with a total <strong>of</strong> 36 years <strong>of</strong> experience! This translates into a seamless transition regardless<br />
<strong>of</strong> what Communications Officer is working on a given day. The end result is a highly efficient<br />
and pr<strong>of</strong>essional Communications Center here at the <strong>Hartford</strong> Police Department.<br />
Our department’s Part-Time Clerk/Typists have served our community for a combined 8 years.<br />
They have managed to handle all the department’s transcription needs with an ever-increasing<br />
efficiency. These Clerks routinely type our <strong>of</strong>ficers’ reports within a day or two. This is a marked<br />
improvement over the timeframe required to perform these same duties just four short years ago.<br />
Our Part-Time Parking Enforcement Aide continues to faithfully execute his duties in the downtown<br />
area, rain or shine. The Parking Aide serves an important role in ensuring that vehicular<br />
parking ordinances be adhered to, facilitating the natural flow and access customers have to our<br />
downtown shops and stores.<br />
The Administrative Assistant handles a variety <strong>of</strong> administrative duties here at HPD. She may<br />
help with payroll, make purchase orders, order an <strong>of</strong>ficer new boots, enter a delinquent parking<br />
