3. Books, book chapters, reports, manuals, guidelines, and electronic material<br />

available to the public.<br />

Each publication must include the following acknowledgement: “This work was<br />

done as part of the <strong>IDEFICS</strong> Study (www.idefics.eu). We gratefully acknowledge the<br />

financial support of the European Community within the Sixth RTD Framework<br />

Programme Contract No. 016181 (FOOD).” and the following disclaimer: “The<br />

information in this document reflects the author’s view and is provided as is. No<br />

guarantee or warranty is given that the information is fit for any particular purpose. The<br />

user thereof uses the information at its sole risk and liability.” The acknowledgement<br />

may be amended, e.g. if additional financial support is obtained by third parties. The<br />

acknowledgement may be reduced to the following keywords on slides, transparencies,<br />

power-point or similar presentations:<br />

o “Worked out within the <strong>IDEFICS</strong> Study (www.idefics.eu)”<br />

o “Funded by the EC, FP 6, Contract No. 016181 (FOOD)”.<br />

The list of authors must end with the term "on behalf of the <strong>IDEFICS</strong><br />

Consortium". In case that the journal does not accept this, the phrase has to be included<br />

in the acknowledgement as follows: “This work was done as part of the <strong>IDEFICS</strong> Study<br />

and is published on behalf of its European Consortium (www.idefics.eu)”.<br />

The Coordinator and the Steering Committee will give support and encourage the<br />

Parties to disseminate as much as possible the results obtained within the <strong>IDEFICS</strong><br />

Study. The Steering Committee will be in charge of managing and monitoring the<br />

publication process as described in the Consortium Agreement. The Steering Committee<br />

will be in touch with the Chairs and Parties’ representatives according to the procedures<br />

described below to ensure a fair process.<br />

In order to ensure that any correspondence concerning proposals of publications<br />

have reached the recipient, emails should always be sent with the request “please<br />

confirm receipt of this email and its attachment(s)”.<br />
