In December, students were asked

As we come up for air from Oliver!, it continues to be an action-packed year for the
Music Department with more new performance opportunities for our students.
On Friday 6th March, we are celebrating our recent affiliation with Woodard
Schools with a joint concert with St Margaret’s School. It takes place in Heavitree
Parish church at 7:30 and details for obtaining tickets will be given shortly. Many
of our school ensembles will be taking part so do mark the date as it promises to
be a good evening.
Secondly, towards the end of March, Exeter College are putting on their annual
showcase Concert of musical ensembles for KS4 students. We are going to be
hosting this again, sharing the performance platform with some of our ensembles.
Look out for a finalised date on the School Calendar as it was a most enjoyable
and varied evening last year.
We have also been approached by Exeter Music Group, a highly respected local
orchestra which rehearses at St Peter’s. They have invited us to take part in a
workshop and rehearsal in June, after which some of our students will sit in with
the orchestra and perform at their concert here. This will be an American-themed
event on Saturday 4th July and more details about tickets will be issued nearer
the time.
Finally, our very own annual Spring Concert is on the evening of Tuesday 12th
May in the School Hall, where all of the school groups will present music from
String Quartets to Boomwhackers, Chamber Choir to Samba Band.
