Information resources, Services and Practices - Tata Memorial Centre

The tremendous growth of e - resources, the constant change in
publishers, approach due to mergers, unification and take-overs,
causes barriers to accessibility in terms of interface, availability,
distribution and overall management. Along with these, also arise
several other issues, most importantly related to administrative matters.
These changes not only affect the availability, but also force changes in
budgeting processes and in renewals of titles. Such issues are being
addressed independently by various libraries to suit individual needs.
These experiences and practices can be shared and evolved to develop
best practices in all areas related to e - resources management. The
conference aims at providing a platform to address these issues.
Objective :
To further Professional Knowledge about the new e - resources,
formats, acquisitions models, and their management eg. Consortia.
To discuss the technological applications, administrative matters in
order to bridge the gap between what users expect and what they are
served.
Call For Papers :
We invite papers from librarians and information professionals, to share
knowledge and experience on these themes. Papers in the form of Case
Studies, Conceptual Paper, Research / Survey Studies are invited on
the following subject areas to bring in deep deliberations in order to
achieve the conference goal.
Topics included but are not limited to:
1. E- resources management in general
2. Publisher driven Technology networks
3. Libraries driven consortia
4. Cultural driven consortia
5. Rights management of consortia resource
6. Publishers point of view
7. Users perspective
8. Tools and technology solutions for consortium management
Sub Topics :
New and emerging tools for managing E-journal / Resource content:
implementation, Updating and maintenance, linking capabilities
E-journals / Resources preservation and access policy: Acquisition,
Maintenance, Campus wide access and Licensing & leasing from
publishers, aggregators and vendors.
E-journals / Resources present and future scenario: track developments
of new and changing electronic services; resources.
Administrative issues - Policies and procedures for managing electronic
resources; oversee licensing and compliance - negotiate agreement
consortial agreement; Tracking status; Access / technology issuesbarriers
and difficulties; budgeting, manpower-skills etc
The conference would comprise of talks from invited speakers, papers,
and sessions of panel discussions to enable interaction, and allow
sharing of experiences.
Audience :
Librarians and Knowledge Managers from all types of libraries, Medical
informatics, Technologists and End Users.

Guidelines for paper submission :
Content of paper should be of practical applications, case studies and
reviews of existing methods, and should adhere to the sub themes.
The section / sub theme under which the paper can be categorized should be
mentioned while submitting the paper.
No papers will be considered for inclusion in the proceedings if the
presenters do not register :

Final Paper – not more than 5000 words.
