The conference provided<br />
an avenue where women<br />
enriched themselves with<br />
spiritual food and learned<br />
various skills that could<br />
provide a means of livelihood;<br />
for it is said that an idle mind<br />
is the devil’s workshop. It was<br />
indeed a memorable event and<br />
we look forward to another<br />
interesting conference in<br />
October <strong>2011</strong> when Sisters of<br />
the Rosy Cross (SIROC) will<br />
mark 10 years of existence.<br />
Light Bearers Association<br />
LBA Annual Conference <strong>2011</strong><br />
The Light BEARERS CONFERENCE was<br />
held at the <strong>Rosicrucian</strong> Park, Calabar from 22 nd -<br />
25 th April, <strong>2011</strong>. A total of 217 members and 13<br />
Coordinators attended the four day event during<br />
which 74 new members were inducted into the LBA.<br />
The theme of the conference was “The Youths: Agents<br />
of Good Governance.” The following lecture topics were<br />
ably delivered by resource persons:<br />
• The power of creative visualisation.<br />
• The Making of Excellent Leaders and Leadership.<br />
• Young people and Dating.<br />
• Self Identity and Poise.<br />
There was the Grand Administrator’s forum on<br />
the topic “Living in harmony with natural and spiritual<br />
laws.” It was an opportunity that the Light Bearers will<br />
ever cherish. The two Mystical Sessions which were held<br />
during the Conference were well received by the members.<br />
LBA Alumni<br />
One of the major highlights of the conference was a<br />
presentation, proposing the formation and inauguration<br />
of the LBA Alumni, with the following objectives:<br />
xx<br />
To create a forum where ex-LBA members could<br />
meet and network.<br />
xx<br />
To participate in the activities of the closest<br />
Affiliated Body of the <strong>Rosicrucian</strong> Order for<br />
mentoring the LBA members and ensure that LBA<br />
activities are sustained and enhanced.<br />
xx<br />
To have a pool of Resource persons who could be<br />
facilitators at the National and Zonal events.<br />
xx<br />
To assist the LBA financially.<br />
The Grand Administrator, Frater Kenneth Idiodi,<br />
officially inaugurated the LBA Alumni. The LBA National<br />
Coordinator, Soror Gbubemi Bridget Idiodi and Deputy<br />
National Coordinator, Frater Sam Ofuonyeadi and<br />
some foundation LBA members and coordinators from<br />
the zones and Affiliated Bodies were present during the<br />
symbolic ceremony.<br />
At a keenly contested, free and fair election, a new<br />
National Executive was elected for a two-year tenure.<br />
They are Frater Edjo Okonubin President, Kesena<br />
Utomudo Vice-President, Ojiromu Enukpere Secretary,<br />
Fortune Deedam Treasurer, Promise Anyanasoh Financial<br />
