Hang Gliding Federation of Australia OPERATIONS MANUAL Appendix 2 OPERATIONAL CONSTRAINTS AND CONCESSIONS This Appendix lists details of the areas for which standing operational concessions have been granted, including any conditions which must be complied with in order to take advantage of the concession. For details of the geographic extent of Controlled Airspace, Prohibited, Restricted and Danger Areas refer to the prohibited, restricted and danger (PRD) areas see Visual Enroute Charts (VEC) and Visual Terminal Charts (VTC). 2.1 Operational Concessions for Hang Gliders and Paragliders This section includes the text of any communication with the CASA that details concessions that have been issued on a continuing basis 2.1.1 Dudley to Merewether Region/State: Club: Northern New South Wales Newcastle Hang Gliding Club Inc Approval Ref: HJ00-021 27 April 1988 Details: (a) (i) hang gliding operations in the Redhead area shall be confined to within one nautical mile either side of the shoreline between Redhead (33° 01’S 151° 44’E) and Little Redhead (32° 58’S 151° 44’E) to a maximum altitude of 1000 feet above mean sea level (AMSL). (ii) hang gliding operations in the Merewether Area shall be confined to within one nautical mile either side of the shoreline between Little Redhead (32° 58’S 151° 44’E and Merewether Heights (32° 57’S 151V 45’E) to a maximum altitude of 300 feet above mean sea level (AMSL). (b) (c) hang gliding is not permitted in more than 4/8ths cloud cover. all other conditions of CAO 95.8 must be complied with. The Newcastle Hang Gliding Club and its officers are responsible for ensuring compliance with the above conditions, Civil Aviation Orders and the HGFA Operations Manual. Any breach of the above requirements will result revocation of this approval. Validity: Unless suspended or cancelled for any reason this approval will remain valid until further notice.
