RECRUITMENT
DISPUTE RESOLUTION IN THE RAIL INDUSTRY
New procedures are to be introduced for dealing with disputes arising in connection with regulated contracts
relating to access to the railway network in England, Wales and Scotland and associated facilities such as
stations, freight terminals and maintenance depots.
The new arrangements will be overseen by the Access Disputes Committee, which wishes to make the
following appointments:-
ALLOCATION CHAIR
l Legally qualified, who will
facilitate agreement between
dispute parties regarding the
procedures to be adopted for
their particular case
l Prepared to act as Hearing
Chair
l Expected commitment 12
days per year unless acting as
Hearing Chair
HEARING CHAIRS
l A pool of legally
qualified individuals who will
chair hearings and produce
written determinations of
disputes
l Expected commitment
5 days per case
INDUSTRY ADVISORS
l A pool of rail experts who
will support Hearing Chairs
l Specialist railway knowledge
and experience of working
within the regulated access
regime essential
l Expected commitment 3
days per case
